The Executive Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Chief David Chinedu Omereji, have warned those who are in the habit of violent destruction of lives and properties when what they expected never come there way to stop and have a rethink. The Chairman made this statement on the burning of the council secretariat gatehouse by known Wike supporters led by one Mr. Ikpechi Oriji, as they barricaded the secretariat and were shooting guns and dynamites.
Chief David Omereji said that since power comes from God, he will manage the power given to him by God through the people of Emolga and promised not to use it to withhunt anybody. Hence, he will not allow any reprisal attack against the enemies of peace and development.
The Chairman, while addressing the stakeholders, told them to advise their brothers and relations who were involved in the dastardly act to desist forthwith before they will meet the full wrath of the law because any further attempt, will be met with stiff resistance.
The Chairman urges all the good people of Emolga not to take laws into their hands but should go about their normal duties as his administration is on top of the matter.
The Chairman also informed the stakeholders that he had already directed all the council staff to come to work on Wednesday, the 9th day of October 2024, as the policy of NO WORK NO PAY has been activated immediately.
